Our Bali visa assistance has helped hundreds of professionals legally work in Indonesia. Here’s what our clients say:
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Charlie Clayden
“I enquired with several companies about VISA extensions in Indonesia and this was by far the cheapest and most efficient service I came across. Every other visa service tried to charge me extortionate amounts (literally 2-5x what I paid here), quoted me really long wait times and/or required me to come into office multiple times. With this service not only was it the cheapest, by far, but also the easiest to use. Everything was done over WhatsApp and required minimal effort on my behalf.”
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Tania “Tats”
“Bali Business Builders – reliable, helpful, and knowledgeable. They have helped us with all visas including Kitas and legal assistance.”
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Mel Sanders
“We have been using Martina and her team at Business Builders for nearly a year now. We would and will never use anyone else. Her fast professionalism is always at 100%. From completing all of our visas required for moving to Bali and opening our business in Bali to always answering all of our questions straight away in a fast manner. Nothing was ever a fuss at all. We highly recommend Martina and her team.”
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ben Askey

The total cost for Work KITAS processing includes: (1) IMTA work permit fees, (2) Government KITAS fees, (3) RPTKA approval fees, (4) Multiple re-entry permit, (5) BPJS health insurance, and (6) Professional service fees. Total costs typically range from 18-25 million IDR plus $1200 USD depending on position level and processing requirements. This is usually paid by the sponsoring employer. No. The Work KITAS (E23) requires sponsorship from a legitimate Indonesian company (PT or PT PMA). You cannot apply independently. The employer must hold a valid business license, be in good standing, and take legal responsibility for your employment. If you want to work independently, you need to establish your own PT PMA company and apply for an Investor KITAS (E28A) instead.
Processing typically takes 60-90 working days after all documents are submitted and complete. However, the full timeline from initial consultation to arrival in Indonesia is 3 months because it includes: document collection (2-3 weeks), RPTKA/IMTA approval (6-8 weeks), KITAS processing (6-8 working days), and arrival coordination. We recommend employers start the process at least 3 months before the employee’s intended start date.
No. Work KITAS renewals are processed while you remain in Indonesia. You do NOT need to exit the country for renewals. Start the renewal process at least 3 months before your current KITAS expires. You’ll visit immigration once for biometrics, and we handle all paperwork and government liaison. The KITAS can be renewed up to 5 times (6 years total employment).
If you change employers, your current Work KITAS must be cancelled and a NEW Work KITAS must be applied for with your new employer. You cannot transfer a Work KITAS between companies. The new employer must sponsor a fresh application including new RPTKA and IMTA. During the transition, you may need to exit Indonesia or convert to a different visa type temporarily. We can guide both employers through this process to minimize gaps in employment.
Yes! Your spouse and dependent children can apply for Dependent/Spouse KITAS (E31B) tied to your Work KITAS. They will have the same validity period as yours and must renew at the same time. The dependent visa also prohibits working, but allows them to live in Indonesia legally with you. We handle family visa applications simultaneously with the primary Work KITAS for seamless relocation.
IMTA (Izin Mempekerjakan Tenaga Asing) is the official work permit that authorizes an Indonesian company to employ a foreign worker. Yes, you MUST have an approved IMTA before you can receive a Work KITAS. The IMTA is applied for by your employer through the Ministry of Manpower and includes RPTKA (manpower planning) approval. We handle the entire IMTA application process as part of our Work KITAS service—it’s not separate.
BPJS (Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Sosial) is Indonesia’s mandatory national health and social security insurance. All Work KITAS holders MUST be enrolled in BPJS Kesehatan (health) and BPJS Ketenagakerjaan (employment). Your employer is responsible for registering you and paying the premiums. BPJS provides basic healthcare coverage at Indonesian facilities. You can supplement it with private international insurance for better hospital access. We assist with BPJS enrollment as part of our service.
